    Overview

    • The Process Chemist ensures achievement of 4 core principles when implementing process, product and/or equipment

    o   Stewardship

    o   Quality

    o   Reliability

    o   Engagement through Teamwork

    • Process Chemist provides technical expertise and knowledge to the manufacturing process of the unit (raw materials, equipment, and processes)
    • Process Chemist Implements new technologies, processes, and raw materials

    Responsibilities:

    • Works with Manufacturing Experts on resolving technical issues.
    • Assists Technology leader with site product quality including run plans, finished product quality performance, and quality RCAs
    • Scale up interface between production and outside resources. Develops plan for execution of plant trials (new product, raw material, process and equipment).
    • Continuous engagement in the production facility to identify and remove barriers inhibiting flawless production.
    • Leverages improvements between different sites or industries to continuously improve the technology and the production process.
    • Drives improvements to production capacity, efficiency, process safety and environmental performance in accordance with the UTP and BTP plan.
    • Participates in odor reduction efforts
    • Acts as the unit Chemical Hygiene officer including providing annual training

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s Degree Chemistry or Chemical Engineering with a strong chemistry background
    • Minimum of 8 years of experience as chemist (lab and/or field work)
    • Polymer chemistry experience (PPS Chemistry)
    • Understanding of Sulfur Chemistry, a plus
    • Experience in testing procedures in a chemical manufacturing processing plant
    • Experience with process design and improvement in chemical manufacturing
    • Six Sigma Certifications a plus
