    Set-up, program and operate CNC and other machining equipment to produce plastic and metal parts (molds, tooling). Maintain tooling and molding shop, including some level of machine maintenance.

    Key activities:

    • Work with the tooling specialist to transition 3D MasterCam files into machine set-up.
    • Set-up machining equipment to achieve the target part dimensions.
    • Operate all machining steps to finish part or mold, including milling, grinding and TIG welding.
    • Troubleshoot equipment problems, perform PM and calibrations as appropriate and manage raw materials and cutting tool inventory.
    • Establish and maintain premier safety protocol in the tooling equipment area.
    • Support the prototype molding evaluations and make appropriate tooling modifications to achieve goals.


    • Superior tool and die craftsmanship and knowhow.
    • Ability and experience in operate CNC and EDM machines and TIG welding.
    • Proficient with MasterCam and in creating 3D parts from drawings.
    • Machining and mechanical specialty in the use of, troubleshooting and general maintenance of industrial machinery.
    • Ability to work very independently.                                
    • Injection Molding and plastics processing tooling experience.
    • Certification in tool and die craftsmanship.
    • Previous cognitive and vocational experience in handling machine parts, welding and fabrication a plus.

    • 5 Years

    Required Education

    • High School Diploma.
    • Some secondary education and/or specialized courses in machining technology a plus.
