    Responsibilities:

    Purpose and Summary of position:

     

    Provide technical support of the design and installation of refractory systems/components to improve unit stewardship, quality, and reliability.

     

    Additionally:

    • Perform designs and mechanical analyses through calculations based on sound engineering
    • Design refractory linings for gas based equipment, furnaces, ductwork and heating exchange equipment, including material selection basic and detailed designs
    • Follow up with issues that arise from installation and operation
    • Provide analysis on current refractory technology and determine the Most Effective Technology (MET) for the unit
    • Develop strategy for refractory repairs and supervise refractory repairs
    • Provide mentoring and training of unit personnel

    Qualifications:

    Required Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

     

    • Demonstrated commitment to safety
    • Demonstrated organizational skills, an ability to manage multiple projects and tasks, and the ability to work as Self Directed Individual
    • Strong Verbal and Written Communication Skills
    • Refractory technical and application knowledge
    • Knowledge of applicable industry standards, codes, RAGAGEPs
    • Ability to effectively facilitate technical discussions

     

    Desirable Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

     

    • Good troubleshooting ability

     

    Required Years Experience:

     

    • 5+ years of refractory experience

     

    Required Education:

     

    • Bachelors of Science in Engineering
