    Responsibilities:

    The CapEx Strategic Sourcing Manager is responsible for the commercial and procurement efforts for major capital projects throughout all stages of the project life cycle. This individual will coordinate and manage these projects with global engineering, procurement, and construction firm(s) or with existing company resources.

    Assists and plans the development of project execution strategies, leads the Request For Proposal (RFP) and negotiation efforts, and executes and administers contracts in accordance to established policies and procedures.

    Maintains strong relationships with vendors within the industry and remains aware of current market conditions as well as new developments or “leading edge” ideas.

    Develops strategies for selected commodities or services which will result in enhanced value. Ensure current contracts continue to provide a competitive advantage and identify opportunities for improvement or change.

    Qualifications:

      • Experience in major capital projects ($25MM+)
      • Familiar with and good working knowledge of various project execution models and contracting strategies (cost reimbursable, unit price, lump sum, etc.)
      • Experience with major capital equipment
      • Experience with construction contractors in the various trades, e.g. civil, mechanical, instrumentation, electrical, etc.
      • Solid background in evaluating sources of supply of purchased goods and services in terms of vendor performance, facilities, capacity to produce and financial standing
      • Strong contracting background and conflict resolution skills
      • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with ability to communicate through all levels of the organization
      • Experience in major capital projects ($100MM+) within the oil/gas/chemical industries
      • Knowledgeable of EPC(M) industry
      • Previous experience working within a project “home office” environment either as a contractor or owner
      • Experience with vendors commonly utilized in the oil/gas/chemical industries, e.g. fabricated and rotating equipment, pipe, valves, pumps, instrumentation, etc.
      • Experience with construction contractors who support the oil/gas/chemical industries in the various trades, e.g. civil, mechanical, instrumentation, electrical, etc.
      • Strong claims mitigation and dispute resolution skills.
      • Strong knowledge of general terms and conditions in purchase orders/contracts, e.g. insurance, indemnification, warranties, limitation of liabilities.
      • Able to travel, including internationally, as required by the project
