    Responsibilities:

    Purpose and Summary of position:

     

    • Establish and maintain an environment that relentlessly monitors, assists, and motivates the pursuit of defect-free performance from the supply base, with specific emphasis on advance quality planning during product and manufacturing process development for new and existing product
    • Organize, staff and manage the supply quality organization globally to achieve continuous improvements in systems, processes, and products
    • Resolve interdepartmental issues concerning the quality, and performance of products
    • Provide strategic direction and tactical assistance to company leadership, managers, team leaders, operators and support staff
    • Establish departmental goals to minimize budgetary expenditures while maintaining and improving the overall quality system
    • Collaborate with Procurement in developing a Supplier Quality strategy starting on key suppliers
    • Lead Supplier & Component Development/Corrective Action
    • Address supplier quality issues as required in coordination with plant quality leaders. Represent the company for quality assurance issues related to
    • Complete root cause analysis, containment and drive corrective actions at suppliers and through internal processes utilizing the DMAIC problem solving approach and provide data for any charge backs
    • Identify, implement a Supplier Quality scorecard that takes into account the key metrics (supplier QN, cost of QN’s, CAPA, cycle time etc.)
    • Direct Supplier Quality team to ensure timely and successful completion of projects and new product introductions in accordance with above responsibilities
    • Demonstrate core cultural competencies to subordinates
    • Provide challenging and stretching tasks and assignments
    • Attract, retain and develop the best people from inside or outside
    • Assemble talented teams
    • Broadly shares both responsibility and accountability
    • Create an environment that allows employees opportunities to finish their own work and trust people to perform
    • Improve performance and abilities of subordinates through training, counseling, disciplining and responding to employee ideas and concerns
    • Develop a risk based audit plan with procurement

    Qualifications:

    Required Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

     

    • Reports directly to the VP of Quality , trains, and assists all quality control personnel
    • Directs quality-related activities in conjunction with Manufacturing, Engineering, Purchasing, Customer Service, and any other department/function that affects the quality of the organization’s goods or services

     

    Desirable Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

     

    • Strong background on Quality tools such as SPC, RCA, FMEA facilitation, Supplier development, audits etc.
    • Ability to effectively communicate and collaborate
    • Broad  and deep knowledge of chemical product application, processes and Quality theories/ tools that can be implemented in a Chemical Industry

     

    Required Years Experience:

     

    • 15- 20 years of work experience in Supplier Quality manufacturing environment , with a minimum of 10 years of experience managing a leadership role

    Required Education:

     

    • A Bachelor’s degree in science, engineering or a related technical discipline
    • Master degree is preferred
