    Responsibilities:

    • Ensure the Compounding Unit is running at targets and delivering continuous improvement in stewardship, quality, and reliability by monitoring process, product, and equipment to detect and anticipate emerging issues
    • Ensure proper application of RCA process and develops action plans if needed to achieve results
    • Establish and communicate operating parameters for the 24/7 team and engages team to identify and remove daily execution barriers
    • Build strategy around training and knowledge support
    • Ensure operation of unit within environmental permit requirements
    • Conduct field walkthroughs and provides technical and operational guidance to team members, leads problem solving processes and root cause analysis
    • Track unit production, on-stream reliability/asset utilization, efficiencies, energy usage, raw material usage, etc., and develops plans to correct performance gaps
    • This position is offered for the Coastal Bend Area

    Qualifications:

    • Strongly motivated individual who works independently with minimal supervision.
    • Strong computer skills.
    • Demonstrate ability to handle multiple priorities.
    • Knowledge of manufacturing plant processes - understands polymer extrusion technology (process, product, and equipment).
    • Ability to work in a team based environment and lead a team towards a common goal.
    • Skilled in people development and teaching, effective communication skills with the ability to communicate internally and externally with all levels of the organization.
    • Ability to organize/prioritize thoughts and actions to help achieve unit objectives and long-term vision.
    • Strong technical engineering skills, including knowledge of process design, process safety engineering (PHAs, MOC, and safety systems interlock).
    • Knowledge of and experience with mechanical equipment reliability systems and programs (preventive maintenance, vibration, lubrication, bad actors).
    • Six Sigma Certification.
    • Proficient with statistical software.
    • Computer tools such as PI and SAP.
    • Root Cause Analysis Training (Cause Mapping, Tap Root, etc.).
    • Previous experience supporting a polymer extrusion manufacturing unit.

    Required Years of Experience

    • 3-5 years of manufacturing experience

    Required Education

    • Degree in Mechanical Engineering (preferred)
    • Electrical or Chemical Engineering with polymer extrusion experience
