    The I/E technician is responsible for various types of process control instrumentation equipment like transmitters, controllers, drives, motors, etc. This responsibility includes:

    • Routine maintenance on instrumentation
    • Troubleshooting and repair during abnormal activities on instrumentation equipment
    • Installation of minor improvement projects
    • Field calibration of instrumentation equipment
    • Installation of instrument tubing
    • Ability to install conduit of various trade sizes (typically rigid)


    • Ability to interpret various industrial drawings (schematic drawings to component level, PIDs, etc)
    • Ability to associate circuit symbols with actual components
    • Good mathematical skills including basic algebra for calculation of electrical/ electronic equations
    • Ability to analyze problems, identify solutions and project consequences of proposed actions
    • Ability to learn new technologies
    • Strong interpersonal relation skills, work in a team environment and work independently
    • Ability to identify root cause for failures and communicate appropriately
    • Computer skills including Microsoft Office (Excel/Word/Outlook)
    • Ability to research and suggest outside the box systematic improvements
    • Ability to track and follow up on work requests and work orders in SAP
    • Ability to train less senior instrument or electrical associates working in the field at this work location. Experience with SIS systems
    • Experience with PSM
    • NCCER Certification
    • Required Years of Experience
      • 3+ yrs. exp. in a instrumentation and/or electrician role at a chemical or petrochemical manufacturing plant
    • Required Education:
      • High School Degree
        • In the event the candidate is not NCCER certified, certification of both hands on (demonstration of skills) and formal testing is required within 3 years of employment
