    Purpose and Summary of position:

    • Able to develop excellent knowledge of the Regional and Global MARKETS and the INDUSTRY related to their categories, incumbents and competitors
    • Establish a collaborative relationship with SUPPLIERS that foster innovation in their categories, that provide equipment, materials, and services which are needed for the business continuity
    • Able to establish a good and collaborative relationship with SUPPLIERS that provide the critical equipment, materials, and services related to their commodities which are key for the business and sites
    • Design and execution of cost savings projects at a corporate and site level
    • Establish a network with internal customers in the sites, with procurement colleagues, key regional and global roles in reliability CoE, plant engineers, legal, finance and EHS to develop and implement procurement strategies
    • Great negotiator, able to bring others together, able to reconcile differences
    • Maintain a high degree of ethics and deal with ambiguity
    • Able to manage multiple projects at once
    • Work to understand Celanese's procurement rules and policies working within those projects daily
    • Ability to resolve potential plant shut down emergencies and planned turnarounds
    • Establish good relationship with site management to be able to resolve any potential issues or conflicts with suppliers and contractors as one team in favor of the company


    Required Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

    • Experience in supplier selection, price negotiation, and implementation of contracts
    • Demonstrated history of cost reduction
    • Basic computer skills (Office, SAP)
    • Ability to work independently
    • Conflict/dispute resolution
    • Problem solving, peer relationships, drive for results
    • Understanding of MRP, Goods Receipt, Invoicing
    • Manage supplier and internal relationships
    • Travel required, Average 10%


    Desirable Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

    • Experience in manufacturing facility
    • Experience in petro-chemical or O&G industry
    • Experience in MRO/Indirect Sourcing
    • Understanding of costs and budgets
    • Experience negotiating legal terms
    • Understanding of project management
    • Experience with capital projects over $5 million
    • Experience managing key commodities with spend >$40M
    • Experience with contract negotiation
    • Experience in SAP procurement modules


    Required Years Experience:

    • 8 to 10 Years Experience in Procurement


    Required Education:

    • Bachelor's Degree
