    Purpose and Summary of position:

    Has overall production responsibility for the Preparation and Solvent Recover Manufacturing area, including the safety of the operation, providing production engineering expertise to ensure efficient operation, the supervision of personnel to ensure performance targets are met or exceeded, and the improvement of productivity and departmental spending control.

    Serves as the catalyst for engagement and change, particularly for safety and productivity/systems enhancements.

    Accountable for the quality of work as judged by internal customer complaints.

    Interacts with maintenance and process improvement to resolve any issues to ensure quality and efficiency of production.

    Interacts with internal customers to ensure that strong business partnerships are continually improved.

    Develops appropriate metrics and programs to ensure continual improved safety and performance.


    Required Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:  

    • Supervisory, leadership and communication skills.
    • Thorough knowledge of chemical plant operations, with previous experience as a production engineer. in a manufacturing facility.
    • Knowledgeable of plant operations capabilities and limitations.
    • Able to serve as a change agent and to lead an operational unit to exceptional safety and production performance.
    • Must be able to work with other areas to resolve issues and problems, and be able to exhibit a high degree of teamwork and cooperation.
    • Green Belt certified
    • High level of customer focus

    Desirable Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

    • Black Belt Certification.
    • Previous supervisory/leadership experience.
    • Experience with Process Safety systems (OSHA 1910)

    Required Years of Experience:

    • 3-6 years experience as a production engineer or equivalent leadership experience.

    Required Education:

    • B.S. degree in Engineering
