Responsibilities:

Purpose and Summary of position:

  • Able to develop excellent knowledge of the Regional and Global MARKETS and the INDUSTRY related to their categories, incumbents and competitors.
  • Establish a collaborative relationship with SUPPLIERS that foster innovation in their categories, that provide equipment, materials, services which are needed for the business continuity. Able to establish a good and collaborative relationship with SUPPLIERS that provide the critical equipment, materials and services related to their commodities which are key for the business and sites.
  • Design and execution of cost savings projects at a corporate and site level.
  • Establish a network with internal customers in the sites, with Procurement colleagues,key regional and global roles in Reliability CoE, Plant Engineers, Legal, Finance and EHS to develop and implement Procurement strategies
  • Great Negotiator, able to bring others together, able to reconcile differences.
  • Management of a group of 7-9 employees
  • Work on people's development plans and engagement.
  • Ability to resolve potential plant shut down emergencies and planned turnarounds
  • Establish good relationship with site management to be able to resolve any potential issues or conflicts with suppliers and contractors as one team in favor of the company.

Qualifications:

Required Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:  

  • MRO experience (preferred in plant)

  • Experience managing groups including remotely

  • Strong Negotiation skills

  • Experience in procuring equipment/services/instrumentation  Strong communications skills

  • Basic understanding of Celanese contract procedures and requirements

  • Self directed

Desirable Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:  

  • Team's supervision
  • Management a grup of professionals
  • MRO / Indirect procurement experience
  • Cost savings projects 
  • Procuring Plant equipment
  • Procuring Electrical and instrumentation
  • Working Knowledge of SAP Procurement Systems
  • Experience working with Legal and Finance team on Regional and Global contracts
  • Experience in Management and implementation of new initiatives
  • Experience in working with plant personnel
  • Knowledge of 7 step sourcing process
  • English, for negotaition level and writting. 
  • Preferable Spanish 

Required Years Experience:

  • 7 to 10 yrs Procurement / Commodity Management experience in MRO or chemical company. -Supervision of employees.
  • Travel required, Avg 40%

Requird Education:

  • Bachelor degree
