Responsibilities:

Purpose and Summary of position:

Performs all functions safely within the Fibers production areas. Works well in a team environment with limited supervision. Operate production equipment including troubleshooting and operator-assisted maintenance activities. Learn and rotate to all jobs including floor operation, control room and quality control operations. Support maintenance through proper lock-out tag-out of equipment and issuing safety work permits when required. Strictly follow all production specification sheets and Standard Operating Procedures. Maintain accurate records of all observations and results. Accurate and thorough reporting of data through written and oral reports to leadership. Enter work notifications into SAP when malfunctioning equipment is identified and assist with initial trouble-shooting. Accurate and timely reporting of all safety and environmental events. Maintain and improve housekeeping standards in the work areas. Participate in design discussions, writing and reviewing SOPs, performing line walk-downs, labeling equipment and other duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications:

Required Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:  

  • High School Diploma or equivalent (GED)
  • Candidates must be able to demonstrate basic knowledge and skills by completing the ACT Workkeys assessment testing and attain required scores.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop a thorough understanding of the processes and equipment operation and understand how safety can be impacted by any process changes.
  • Ability and willingness to work rotating shifts, including weekends and holidays. Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability and willingness to work overtime as needed.
  • Excellent observation skills.
  • Adaptable and strong willingness to learn.
  • Able to work in a fast-paced, changing manufacturing environment
  • Understanding of ESHA and other regulatory issues.

Desirable Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:  

  • Previous experience in manufacturing or production environment.
  • Previous training and/or experience on forklift operations
  • Basic mechanical skills and ability to troubleshoot.
  • Experience with safety programs in an industrial environment.

Required Education:

  • HS Diploma
