Responsibilities:

Purpose and Summary of position:

  • Manages the process and product performance for assigned businesses.  This includes owning and managing the SOCs, blend tickets, and machine setup, monitoring actual machine run conditions and assisting shop personnel when SOC and other operating standards cannot be met, assuring products are capable of consistently achieving defined CTQs and working with business lines when products are not capable.  
  • Additionally, real-time monitoring of plant quality, yield, and rate performance to ensure products perform to established standards, developing and executing targeted improvement projects for process/product performance.  Leading plant trials and  scale-up of new products, working with CTG engineers and scale-up team to define acceptance criteria and owns the product transfer to manufacturing.  Leads the Management of Change process and assists in investigations and developing corrective actions for customer complaints.  Monitors raw material performance and provides input on vendor performance to Quality/Purchasing.

Qualifications:

Required Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:  

  • 3 - 5 years experience in plastics specialty compounding manufacturing environment.  
  • Demonstrated ability to handle multiple simultaneous assignments.  
  • Effective communication skills wit hthe ability to communicate internally and externally to all organizational levels.  
  • Proven ability to successfully collaborate with other functions including Management, Maintenance, Operations, and Construction.  
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and computer skills.

Desirable Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:  

  • Knowledgeable and experienced in Celanese work processes, policies and procedures.  
  • Experience in statistics, Six Sigma methodologies, and Lean Manufactuing.  Understands plastics compounding methods and technologies (equipment, process, etc.).  
  • Experience in Process Safety Management.  
  • Strong technical and troubleshooting skills.

Required Years Expereince:

3-5 years

 

Required Education:

BS in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering
