Responsibilities:

  • The Manager of Indirect Procurement – Americas position is responsible for leading a team of twenty (20) strategic and site sourcing professionals located throughout the Americas.
  • The Indirect Procurement team supports numerous manufacturing and office locations in the procurement of goods/services for Maintenance, Repair, Operations (MRO); HR, IT, Travel, Finance (Corporate Services), and Capital Projects (CapEx).
  • Increase collaboration throughout the organization by working cross-functionally with stakeholders at manufacturing plants and/or office locations to develop executable strategies for commodities and/or services that will provide a competitive advantage in the market.
  • Develops and/or maintains strong relationships with vendors within the industry and remains aware of current market conditions as well as opportunities to drive additional value throughout the organization.
  • Identify and develop projects that will drive productivity savings (cost reductions) by proactively monitoring and analysing the  market; qualifying new alternative suppliers, products, or technology.

Qualifications:

Required Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

 

  • Strong managerial experience, including the ability to develop (train) talent and assess performance, inclusive of conducting performance reviews and establishing development plans.
  • Proven track record of driving productivity savings thru commercial negotiations, collaborative efforts with vendors, developing alternative sources of supply, etc.
  • Solid background in evaluating sources of supply of purchased goods and services in terms of vendor performance, facilities, capacity to produce and financial standing.
  • Knowledgeable of general terms and conditions in purchase orders/contracts, e.g. insurance, indemnification, warranties, limitation of liabilities, etc.
  • Strong contracting background, problem solving, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with ability to communicate amongst all levels of the organization.
  • Able to travel, including internationally, to conduct business at manufacturing and vendor locations.

 Desirable Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:  

 

  • Demonstrated experience in Category Management, e.g. developing and implementing strategies for a particular category
  • Knowledgeable of vendors and construction contractors commonly utilized in the oil/gas/chemical industries, e.g. fabricated and rotating equipment, PVF materials, water treatment, maintenance contractors, etc.
  • Experience in major capital projects ($20MM+) within the oil/gas/chemical industries.
  • Prior experience in working with or leading multi-national teams.
  • Experience using Microsoft applications and SAP

 

Required Yrs Exp:

10+ years of related professional experience

3+ years in a managerial/leadership role

 

Required Education:

Bachelor's Degree
