Advanced Specialist, General Ledger

Overview:

We are looking for a General Ledger Team Leader to support our Finance team. This role will support Mylar Americas in establishing an Accounting driven mindset – all accounting processes, as well as contributing to Finance processes such as Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable and supporting Finance Team activities such as financial audits. The candidate is passionate and can drive productivity improvement and standardization in processes. This role is the key position for the financial accounting activities of a joint venture company with two manufacturing locations.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage external financial audits.
  • Revenue Accounting (revenue recognition, rebate accounting, commissions…)
  • Process General Ledger interfaces from external payroll and freight systems
  • Routine financial summary reporting to functional area leaders
  • Month end closing processes
  • General Ledger maintenance (SAP)
  • Oversight of Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable activities.
  • General ledger account reconciliations
  • Routine assistance with legal entity external audit
  • Assist with Internal Control activities and reviews
  • Transfer Pricing Analysis
  • Maintain up-to-date procedures

Qualifications:

Required Education:

  • Bachelors Degree in Accounting and/or CPA

Required Experience:

  • 10 + years in Financial Accounting

Required Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  • Strong Technical Accounting knowledge
  • US GAAP strong knowledge
  • Ability to make and drive change
  • Strong Analytical Skills
  • Advanced Excel Skills
  • Self directed, ability to work under minimal supervision, self-starter, ability to multi-task and prioritize work
  • Strong communication skills

Desirable Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  • Ability to collaborate and communicate with different levels in the organization (peers, operation managers, senior leaders, operators etc.)
  • Proficient in SAP

Pay is based on several factors which vary based on position. These include labor markets, work experience, and qualifications. The expected salary range for this Virginia position is between

$90,100 and $148,600.
