Overview:

Celanese is seeking a Specialist, Production, Manufacturing Expert to ensure the unit is running at entitlement targets and anticipate to potential emerging issues.

 

Responsibilities:

ROUTINE ACTIVITIES:
• Continuously monitors process, product and equipment to detect and anticipate 
emerging issues.
• Develop and implement training for the 24/7 and/or Core Team. 
• Field walkthroughs.
• Establish and communicate operating parameters for the 24/7 Team.
• Engage with 24/7 Team to identify and remove daily execution barriers.
• Define, update and track alarm performance and change where needed.
• Collaborates with Asset Leader to understand and set priority for equipment repairs.
• Environmental compliance (track and escalate) 

 

OVERARCHING ACTIVITIES:
• Builds strategy around training and knowledge support.

• Promotes the Safety Culture Assessment (SCA) program in the unit and drives 
safety culture.
• Manages the stewardship part of Conduct of Operations for the unit operation.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.

ROUTINE ACTIVITIES
• Develop, communicate, and implement daily stewardship focus.
• Completes and engages Core Team in safety leading indicators.
• Complete field assessment of stewardship execution, develop and administers. 
feedback measures, then reviews results for drift prevention and future alignment
• Identify emerging issues.
• Coordinates with the Stewardship Facilitator to identify and remove stewardship 
roadblocks.
• Communicates and strategizes activities with Daily Execution Leader.
• Auditing of life critical permits, ConOps and tracking of unit behavior observation 
data.
• Track established Environmental and Safety compliance parameters and quickly 
escalates if any deviation or violations may have occurred. 
• HazRecs and NM evaluation.


ADHOC ACTIVITIES (As needed):
• Conducts RCAs and escalate issues, that cannot be solved.
• Trains members of core team in stewardship programs, initiatives, best practices, 
and Tier III policies. 
• Generates ideas and implements improvement projects.
• Obtains necessary approvals on stewardship related plans to allow 24/7 team to 
perform work or maintenance uninterrupted (i.e. SWP deviations, radiation source 
handling, PRD preplans, carseal preplan, etc.).

• Initiates MOC’s and field walk down of implementation.
• Ensures proper application of RCA process and corrective action plans. If needed, 
develops action plans to achieve results.
• Adjusts raw material or escalates if plan isn’t reached. 
• Communicates issues or barriers with production schedule or material containment. 
• Develop strategy and communicates executable plan for handling offgrade/rejected 
materials.
• Participates in quality investigations for out-of-spec product.
• Initiates process safety bypasses and develops mitigation plans.
• Communicate with outside units to share best practices.


Other: 

• Knowledge of process, product and equipment to effectively manage emerging issues

• Ensures proper use of RCA process and corrective action plans to close gap

• Maintains compliance of EHS requirements for daily execution
• Field evaluation of procedure usage as defined by SQRE plan
• Drives environmental and stewardship compliance in accordance to the 4 core principles.
• Lead in field review of safety and environmental policies with 24/7 team, Manufacturing Experts and Reliability SMEs

Qualifications:

  • Chemical, Mechanical Engineering degree
  • 1-3 experience in chemical plants
  • Self oriented
  • English Mid Level
