Overview:

Lead and oversee activities of a group of Logistics Coordinators ensuring on time shipment from the plants and on time delivery to the customer. Resolving any escalated issues relating to transportation delays, equipment challenges or other issues impacting on time delivery to the customer. 

We are seeking a highly analytical and results driven Leader who can bridge the gap between tactical daily execution and strategic regional goals, ensuring flawless deliver, carrier compliance and spearheading optimization projects.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee processes and personnel which coordinate all load, shipment and traffic processes with local plant / warehouse / terminal personnel to ensure on time delivery to customer
  • Ensure adherence to all Safety and Compliance written standard operating procedures and controls, trade compliance, customs compliance, transportation and logistics regulations, Dangerous Goods regulations, Responsible Care and ISO 9000, IATF (where applicable)
  • Oversee resolution management processes and determine effectiveness related to accidents, returns, diverted rail cars, insurance issues, quantity differences and any other customer or compliance impacting issue
  • Serve as the primary point of escalation and collaboration among teams
  • Ensure SAP postings are executed in a timely manner aligned with revenue recognition rules and ensure timely discrepancy resolution
  • Ensure adherence to defined operational escalation process to leads, regional experts and plant personnel when unforeseen delays in shipping from plant and ultimate delivery to customer are encountered.  Investigate failures and develop process changes to address “routine” failures
  • Recommend process improvement including investigation of quality failures and the development of preventive and corrective actions for quality failures
  • Manage work planning, vacation planning, follow up, meetings and scheduling to meet business requirements
  • Balance workload distribution to maximize team productivity
  • Maintain contacts with 3rd parties to ensure tactical daily issues and month close issues are resolved promptly
  • Participate in SOX self assessments and audits as required (monthly, quarterly and annually)
  • Responsible for supervising, managing and motivating team members on a daily basis. Establish clear accountability driving a high performance culture
  • Participate in customer service, sales and other meetings as appropriate
  • Maintain scorecards with metrics for internal process performance as well as external process performance for carriers and 3rd party warehouses
  • Meet/exceed monthly KPI metrics and objectives 
  • Present operational health reports and strategic business cases directly to regional Senior Leadership

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain, International Business, Business Administration, or a related technical field. Specialized certification (APICS, Lean Six Sigma) is a strong plus.
  • 5 years Logistic Operations/ Supply Chain experience and/or 3 years leadership responsibility 
  • Fluent English (C1/C2 level) with the ability to communicate with stakeholders at different levels
  • SAP Experience
  • Excel proficiency is a must. Power BI an asset
  • Ability to drive process improvements 
  • Proven experience managing U.S. domestic logistics (FTL, LTL, specialized freight, U.S. carrier market dynamics, and tech portals/WMS) is highly preferred
