Advanced Specialist, Fixed Equipment Reliability

Overview:

Responsible for improving the reliability, integrity, and performance of fixed mechanical assets, including pressure vessels, piping, tanks, heat exchangers, and other static equipment. This role focuses on preventing equipment failures, reducing unplanned downtime, and ensuring safe, efficient, and compliant operation in accordance with internal standards and applicable regulatory requirements. 

Responsibilities:

  • Creates predictive and preventative maintenance care plans.
  • Owns standardization of technology.
  • Creates and delivers training to develop the technical capabilities of the unit team.
  • Works with OEMs and unit teams on specification and selection of new equipment.
  • Networks with peers at other sites and across industry to identify and adopt best practices for technology and reliability programs.
  • Leads and provides direction for technical directives as they pertain to mechanical integrity.
  • Provides counsel and advice to Maintenance/Reliability organizations on identification of problems and ensuring resolution and related preventative/predictive maintenance problems.
  • Maintains required regulatory equipment, failure modes evaluation, gap plan and resolution for improving reliability.
  • Reliability approval of new designs and approver for MOC reliability changes.
  • Participate and develop RCAs.
  • Performs routine field equipment inspections to service the core team and proactively identify emerging issues or concerns
  • Provides recommendations to resolve emerging issues as part of the “Bad Actor” 
    Process. 

Qualifications:

  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related engineering field.
  • 5 years in industry engineering verifiable experience.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in English language (read, write, and speak fluently).
  • Demonstrate domain, credentials or certification in international codes (ASME, API-570/510/653, ISO) and local regulations (NOMs).
  • Demonstrate proficiency in SAP software utilization.
  • Knowledge of PI&D interpretation, mechanical drawings, and specification data sheets.
  • Strong analytical & problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and experience on problem solving and troubleshooting using diverse methodologies (RCA, tap root, Ishikawa, etc.).
  • Required competencies: adaptability, coaching and developing, collaboration, driving for results, strategic planning & managing work.
