Overview:

The Maintenance Millwright/Outside Machinist at the Clear Lake, Texas site will be responsible for site-wide execution of various mechanical scopes concerning pumps, compressors, turbines, etc., and must have an analytical mindset and be capable of handling various tools necessary.

Responsibilities:

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Reviews job packages, understands scope, and prepares pre-task plans to ensure that maintenance work can be performed in a safe manner and in accordance with Conduct of Maintenance.
  • Obtains the corresponding work permits and communicates effectively with operations and other impacted work groups to ensure effective hand-offs.
  • Safely executes predictive, preventative, corrective and modification maintenance tasks
  • Completes technical findings and level C RCAs to identify and implement continual improvement actions.
  • Interprets predictive maintenance data to identify and reduce risk.
  • Follows procedures and policies and performs behavioral safety observations and dynamic risk assessment to ensure work is completed safely.
  • Communicates with the Maintenance Team Captain on any unexpected issue arising during the job execution.
  • Initiates return to service hand-off to 24/7 Team and work permit closure walk down in the field.
  • Provide feedback on work plans to Maintenance Planning Expert.
  • Maintains a professional, respectful workplace continually striving for best in class maintenance performance.
  • Adheres to appropriate policies and procedures.

Qualifications:

KEY ABILITIES

  • Knowledge and understanding of hydraulics, pneumatics, belt systems, and other industrial machinery systems.
  • Ability to analyze and understand blueprints, layout plans, and other materials when assembling machinery.
  • Ability to troubleshoot determining problems with industrial machinery, identifying which systems are failing and what procedures or parts are needed to fix the issue.
  • Possess the necessary problem-solving skills needed to understand what must be done to address and resolve the issue.
  • Capable of precision measuring, making calculations, and applying general geometric concepts.
  • Ability to adapt approach in real time.
  • Effective communication to address failure modes with multiple workgroups and technical backgrounds.

 

DESIRABLE ABILITIES

  • Trade school training/certification.
  • Lathe Machinist experience.
  • Familiar with SAP.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

 

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • 5+ years of experience in chemical or refinery site Maintenance or equivalent supporting industry.
  • An understanding of quality control systems and processes.
