Celanese is seeking an Operator, Production, Process Expert to join our team at our Clear Lake Manufacturing facility.
Responsibilities:
Responsible for the safety of personnel, reliability of equipment and production volumes and efficiencies within his/her assigned area. Continuously monitors and makes the necessary adjustments to ensure that the process and equipment are operated within appropriate limits.
Perform all responsibilities as required for each appropriate level in the Operator progression
Ensure compliance with all applicable policies, procedures, laws, regulations, and Company standards as they pertain to the following: Safety, Health, Environmental, ISO 9002 and Housekeeping Standards.
Ensure safety of personnel and reliability of the equipment
Qualifications:
The following are required:
High School diploma or GED equivalent
Valid driver's license
Minimum of 2-5 years of process expert/operator experience working in chemical manufacturing facility or similar
Willing and able to wear required PPE (personal protective equipment) such as steel toes, hardhat, Nomex, protective eyewear, face shields, arc protective clothing, and SCBA (self-contained breathing apparatus)
Willing and able to work a rotating shift schedule
Willing and able to work overtime, including holidays, weekends, and on short notice call in as required
Willing and able to frequently lift and move objects weighing up to 50lbs
Experience using Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.) and learning new computer software systems
Successful candidate will need to be able to perform the essential functions of the job with or without accommodation.

Associate’s degree in a science related field or Process Technology
Experience in a maintenance or process operations in a chemical facility or similar
Experience in water treatment or steam generation
Experience with SAP or equivalent Manufacturing Operations software
