Overview:
Responsible for the safe and efficient handling, loading, and unloading of chemical materials in an industrial setting. Ensures compliance with safety protocols and regulatory standards.
Responsibilities:
Safely load/unload chemicals into tanks, trailers, or railcars
Inspect equipment and containers for contamination, damage, and compliance.
Perform weekly, monthly safety checklists and equipment inspections
Install appropriate placarding and labeling to railcars and trailers.
Handle and store chemicals according to safety and environmental guidelines
Maintain accurate records and documentation
Clean and maintain equipment/work areas
Perform troubleshooting of loading equipment.
Operate a control system (console) responsible for loading of all products.
Perform switching of railcars.
Operate a yard truck for safe movement of chemical trailers.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED
Physical strength and stamina
Knowledge of DOT loading/securement regulations
Good communication skills
Familiarity with SDS and chemical properties
Basic math for measurements and documentation
Working Conditions:
Exposure to various temperatures and hazardous substances
Day Schedule with rotating weekends as workload demands
Mandatory use of personal protective equipment (PPE)
