Overview:

This internship will be jointly shared between the Procurement Logistics team and the Energy Procurement team. The selected intern will contribute to strategic Supply Chain and Energy-related initiatives, supporting high-impact projects that improve cost transparency, data quality, process efficiency, and analytics capabilities across both groups.

Responsibilities:

Procurement Logistics – Strategic Projects

  • Participate in the Logistics Procurement – Trucking Bid Project, including reviewing and evaluating bids, lane and network alignment, carrier selection and award execution, and readiness for contracting and system updates.
  • Conduct final review and validation of carrier pricing and service proposals.
  • Analyze cost, performance, and service data to inform Procurement, Logistics, and cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Support lane alignment and operational feasibility checks with Logistics and shipping locations.
  • Prepare and distribute formal carrier award communications.
  • Track and manage bid finalization activities to ensure on-time go-live readiness.
  • Use data purification and analysis techniques to support data-driven decision-making.
  • Contribute to process standardization, procedure optimization, and continuous improvement efforts.

Energy Procurement – Analytics & Automation Project

  • Lead a project applying Power BI and AI-based automation tools to streamline processing of natural gas invoices and improve cost-tracking workflows for Celanese’s Texas and Virginia manufacturing facilities.
  • Develop dashboards, data models, and automation logic.
  • Leverage historical data to identify patterns and strengthen decision-support capabilities.
  • Collaborate with Energy Procurement stakeholders to validate outputs and ensure successful adoption of new tools.

Qualifications:

  • Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management (graduating Fall 2026 or Spring 2027).
  • Minimum GPA 3.0.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Power BI.
  • Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and learning agility.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work successfully on cross-functional teams.
  • Must be able to work in the U.S. without restrictions.
