Overview:

The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for the quality and safe execution of daily maintenance activities performed by Mylar Specialty Films technicians and provides leadership for all maintenance work within the site, including outside contractors. The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for performance management, utilization of maintenance management systems and influence development of the maintenance organization. The Maintenance Supervisor ensures maintenance work is performed in compliance with safety, health, and regulatory standards to meet business requirements.  This role is responsible for continuous improvement in equipment reliability and cost.

Responsibilities:

  • Set expectations and hold people accountable for Core Value compliance (SHE/PSM Ethics & Respect for People) and model appropriate behavior
  • Effectively supervise craft personnel to ensure that all assigned maintenance activities are performed safely and effectively by qualified workers in accordance with plant procedures, corporate requirements, and governing regulatory agencies
  • Manage constructive relationships with union and non-union team members.
  • Owns, manages and drives the safe and timely execution of the daily maintenance schedule, and maintenance overtime to support business needs
  • Accountable for all required documentation and electronic records as a result of the execution of maintenance activities for personnel executing maintenance activities under their direction
  • Ensure accurate capacity and time accounting for maintenance resources (i.e. MyInfo pay time confirmation)
  • Participates in all aspects of Maintenance Department management to support safe and efficient operation of the plant, including the development, implementation and performance monitoring of all corporate and site business goals and objectives
  • Effectively communicate significant plant and personnel issues to Maintenance Manager and all applicable levels of site management
  • Control maintenance expenditures within budget requirements by monitoring expenditures, adjusting priorities, and forecasting maintenance needs
  • Coordinate with engineering group for capital projects executions to ensure effective use of capital funds
  • Prepare and administer programs, methods, systems, and practices for reducing cost and improving employee and plant efficiency, safety, productivity, and reliability.

 

 

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED, with additional post-secondary education in maintenance preferred

  • 5 + years of experience in an industrial environment. Experience should include:
    • Support for a 24/7 fast-paced manufacturing environment
    • Interaction with a diverse array of technician crafts
    • Managing multiple priorities with competing customers
    • Engaging with outside and onsite contractors on critical work
  • Demonstrated ability to prepare clear and concise written documents
  • Excellent verbal communication and ability to converse fluently with key stakeholders, at all levels
  • Strong decision-making, problem-solving and administrative skills
  • Demonstrated proficiency with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (SAP preferred)
  • Extremely independent, detail oriented and highly organized
  • Experience of maintenance execution within a Process Safety Management environment
