Location: US - must be located at a US Celanese site

 

Join the Data Quality team at Celanese.  In this role you will have an opportunity to define, orchestrate, and automate data processes to solve business problems.  Most of the work will be related to SAP and SAP related bolt-on systems.  You will deliver value by building solutions that automate and eliminate manual data processes, mistake proof processes, and present data to stakeholders in a way that fits the needs of the business.  This includes reporting as well as uploading data to SAP.  One objective is to provide key stakeholders/business users with the data that they need in a format that best fits the business need; this allows business users to spend time taking actions, reacting to alerts, and less time gathering data.

As a Data Automation Expert, you will be the one working to understand the need and the also building the solutions.   Given the criticality of data quality, this role is essential to our enterprise-wide data quality program and requires a significant amount of collaboration across all business areas.   This role will have regular interaction with the corporate IT group as well as daily interaction with our quality, operations, product stewardship, and technology teams.   Looking for a Self-motivated individual with a positive and professional approach with the ability to work independently to create solutions. Proactively communicate with managers to anticipate and solve problems. Must possess excellent organizational and planning skills. We are looking for someone that can understand business problems and deliver automated, end user friendly business solutions.

Responsibilities:

  • Will assume responsibilities for “PolyData” application.  System currently running and used to automate, update, and extract data from SAP.
  • Expand and build new solutions to solve current business pain points including the following areas:
    • BOM change requests.  Guided entry to improve request process and avoid disruption to plant production following BOM changes.
    • Automate results entry for 3rd party tollers
    • Develop SAP based reports for management of Blocked / non-standard stock.  Identify generation, trends of issues, and link to related corrective actions.
    • Develop SAP tools to verify required actions are complete for SKU rationalization projects.  Checking associated HALB/FERTs, remaining inventory, BOM rules, production orders, shipments, …
    • Managing Periodic Property data for inspection plans to reduce manual data entry.  Reporting, tracking, and uploading to SAP.
    • Develop reports on production control plans to analyze SAP/Sample Manager data to identify opportunities for test optimization.
    • Certificate of Analysis Change process. Self-service tool for real time changes of CoA profile assignments that reduces manual SAP work.
    • Inspection plan and Certification of analysis audits and discrepancy alerts to prevent customer complaints and follow-up processes
    • Regular cadence on quality issues and out of specification results
  • Create new reports and tracking metrics for SAP and related systems. Exception that highlights where actions are needed.
  • Ability to work in the CG02 product composition, Product Stewardship, module of SAP for linkages to base SAP and reporting.
  • Plan and execute all required process steps as defined in our methodologies.
  • Anticipate, identify, track, and resolve issues and risks affecting the SAP applications.
  • Meet service commitments for assigned deliverables and proactively provide work status.
  • Ability to interact in a professional manner with internal and external global customers.

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree Engineering/Programming
  • Years of Experience: 5+
  • SAP background
  • Programming language capabilities
    • Iron Python
    • Java (Java Script)
    • C++ (C-Sharp)
    • Web Applications
    • Microsoft.net objects
    • SQL
  • Sample Manager understanding is a plus.
  • Ability to learn and take over ownership of custom application called PolyData
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to translate business processes or concepts into technical requirements and ability to build solutions.
  • The ability to identify the impact of process or data across more than one functional area or SAP module is necessary.
  • Excellent data analysis and analytical skills along with the ability to debug and trouble-shoot issues.
  • Must be highly motivated and dependable with excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines and be able to multitask and prioritize as needed.
