- Requires a Bachelor’s degree, or foreign equivalent degree in in Chemical Engineering, Process Safety Engineering, or Industrial Engineering and five (5) years of progressive, post
baccalaureate experience in the job offered or five (5) years of progressive, post-baccalaureate experience in a related occupation conducting process safety engineering, risk management, and chemical process operations in an industrial manufacturing or chemical processing environment. - Following OSHA PSM (29 CFR 1910.119), EPA RMP, and NFPA (National Fire Protection Association) regulations; utilizing PHA methodologies, including HAZOP, What-If, LOPA, and FMEA.
- Conducting consequence modeling using PHAST, ALOHA, and FLACS.
- Performing relief system design and pressure relief analysis per API 520/521.
- Working with process controlsystems, emergency shutdown systems (ESD), and safety instrumented systems (SIS) per IEC 61511.
- Utilizing quantitative risk assessments, dispersion modeling, and fire/explosion modeling; using Chemical reactivity
analysis and thermal runaway prevention. - Interacting with cross-functional teams, regulatory agencies, and senior leadership.
- Managing multiple projects and prioritizing tasks in a high-risk operational environment.
