Senior Specialist, Salesforce Admin/Developer

Overview:

This role is part of the Celanese Digital Commerce Solutions IT team and serves as a key contributor to our Salesforce ecosystem. In this hybrid capacity, the Salesforce Administrator/Developer will collaborate closely with business stakeholders and the Salesforce IT team to deliver reliable, scalable solutions that support commercial operations. The ideal candidate combines strong administrative expertise with hands-on development skills, including Apex and Lightning, to design, customize, and implement Salesforce applications. This position requires a versatile professional who can manage day-to-day platform administration while driving enhancements that align with business needs and ensure system stability and growth.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide daily administration and support for Salesforce users, including data quality management, troubleshooting, and implementing enhanced functionalities.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders and Salesforce team members to identify opportunities for system improvements and deliver effective solutions.
  • Participate in the full software development lifecycle which includes requirements gathering, design, coding, testing, and deployment.
  • Coordinate and execute system upgrades and product releases to maintain platform stability and sustainability.
  • Design, build, and maintain integrations with external applications using web services and REST/SOAP APIs.
  • Ensure adherence to Salesforce security standards, development best practices, and compliance requirements.
  • Develop and maintain custom applications and components on the Salesforce platform using Apex, Visualforce, and Lightning technologies.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation, including user guides, release notes, and design specifications.
  • Diagnose and resolve issues related to Salesforce applications and integrations.
  • Conduct code reviews to ensure quality, scalability, and adherence to best practices.
  • Stay current with new Salesforce features and functionality, recommending enhancements to optimize existing implementations.
  • Ability to handle multiple projects with agility & governance
  • Lead or actively contribute to new IT implementations, including mergers and acquisitions (M&A), & divestitures

Qualifications:

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree is required, Master’s Degree is a plus  
  • 8 – 10 years total Salesforce experience with at least 3 years in admin -dev(Salesforce Certifications preferred)
  • Strong knowledge in Apex classes/triggers, Visualforce, Lightning Web Components, Lightning Aura, Salesforce development tools, Flow automation & asynchronous callouts. 
  • Good understanding of Salesforce data & security model, including standard and custom objects, relationships, and fields.
  • Experience with integrating various tools and systems with Salesforce(REST/SOAP APIs) & Implementing/configuring managed packages
  • Good written and verbal communication skills to connect with global teams and translate complex system requirements into business language and collaborate with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strong Knowledge in Salesforce Sales Cloud and Service Cloud, including Email to Case setup, entitlement and escalation rules, knowledge base, omni-channel routing and automations

Preferred Skills

  • Middleware Expertise – Integrating Salesforce and SAP S/4 using SAP PI/XI middleware for inbound and outbound interfaces
  • Familiarity with SAP IDocs & OData services
  • Strong understanding of API architecture (REST/SOAP/Bulk/Streaming)
  • Expertise in pipelines and deployment using DevOps platform(E.g. Copado/Azure DevOps)
  • Salesforce Certified Advanced Administrator, Platform Developer I/II
  • Expertise connecting Salesforce with external systems such as Websites, SharePoint, Smartsheet & Microsoft Copilot using REST/SOAP APIs, OData, Salesforce connect
