The Advanced Specialist will manage Maintenance Repair Operations (“MRO”) purchases and vendor relationships for designated plant operations. This individual will be responsible for the development and implementation of sourcing strategies, conducting Request for Quotes/Proposals, negotiating competitive commercial terms, exploring innovative ways of delivering cost savings, and a variety of other procurement activities. The Advanced Specialist will engage and interact with our manufacturing plant stakeholders and other key stakeholders in support of manufacturing operations.
• Oversee maintenance procurement and support capital project procurement activities.
• Develop and implement local site procurement strategies aligned with corporate procurement objectives.
• Create and execute sourcing plans for high-value and critical spend categories, including RFQ preparation, purchase order or contract negotiation, and supplier relationship management at the plant level.
• Partner with stakeholders to identify innovative solutions that enhance supplier consolidation, service quality, delivery timelines, cost efficiency, and lead times.
• Analyze spend data to pinpoint improvement opportunities and establish strategies, sourcing plans, and initiatives to generate incremental value.
• Act as a point of escalation to resolve procurement-related issues, proactively addressing vendor performance concerns and engaging Commodity Managers as needed.
• Manage procurement activities in compliance with corporate policies, departmental guidelines, and the Business Conduct Policy (BCP).
• Drive daily procurement operations with a focus on achieving individual and team annual goals and objectives.
• Contribute to company profitability by developing and executing cost reduction strategies.
• Lead procurement efforts to support plant turnarounds and emergency situations, including occasional after-hours work.
• Collaborate with legal teams and suppliers to negotiate favorable legal terms for Celanese
• 5+ years of experience in Procurement or related field.
• High school diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Innovative mindset and ability to create and drive incremental value across organizations.
• Excellent commercial knowledge and business acumen.
• Strong commercial negotiation, contracting, and dispute resolution skills.
• Experience in supplier selection and evaluation.
• Strong analytical and strategic sourcing skills.
