Overview:

This is a key role on our Global Benefits team supporting our Global Benefits strategy, including  and management of our benefits offerings in North America. Reporting to the Leader of Global Benefits, this role will help lead benefits across all Celanese businesses with a primary focus on U.S. and North America Benefits.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the management and administration of our North America health and welfare plans, including oversight of external benefits partners to ensure excellence in the services they provide, ease-of-use for employees and handle dilemmas as they arise.
  • Build and execute a successful open enrollment and related communications that provides clear guidance for employees.
  • Implement new partners, plans and programs as well as changes and improvements to existing plans and programs.
  • Work creatively with communications partners in delivering key messaging to employees, using a variety of methods for outreach.
  • Oversee partner platforms, drive improvements and develop effective communication strategies with external partners.
  • Develop effective change management strategies that include key messages of new plans/programs, changes or improvements to employees, HR business partners and relevant leaders, as needed and in partnership with Global Benefits Leader.
  • Guide key metrics of our plans, programs, utilization and costs for concise reports and dashboards, including insights into improvement opportunities.
  • Oversee day-to-day financial management of benefits, including proper payments, funding and cost share.
  • Work with internal and external partners on key process improvements, driving optimal operational decisions.
  • Work with Global Benefits Leader on short-term strategic planning.
  • Develop presentations with business case criteria to support recommendations.
  • Ensure benefits plans and plan documents are in compliance with relevant laws and regulations, delivering timely internal and external compliance, SOX and audit requirements.
  • Assist with agreement and contract updates in partnership with procurement and legal teams as well as proper storage of updated documents.
  • Support M&A-related benefit activities in partnership with key internal and external stakeholders.
  • Create/update each region’s benefits plans and policies, collaborating with internal partners on key changes.
  • Involvement in Benefits-related projects as they arise.

Qualifications:

  • 6-8 + years of relevant Benefits and Total Rewards work experience, including managing other employees.
  • Experience effectively overseeing external vendors and consultants.
  • Bachelor’s Degree or higher, and/or equivalent work experience.
  • Experience in being an integral part of past inter-departmental projects is key
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong project management with both internal and external partners. 
  • Strong change management capabilities, including appropriate communication methods.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written, verbal, confidential) with ease at all levels of the organization as well as solid presentation skills.
  • Skillful at identifying key issues, collaborating with internal and external partners and driving optimal solutions.
  • Proficient in U.S. benefits laws, regulations and necessary compliance needs as well as utilizing proper internal/external legal expertise.
  • Competence in Microsoft Office tools.
