Overview:

The North American Rail Coordinator will oversee rail logistics operations across North America, ensuring efficient, timely, and compliant movement of goods. Based in Mexico City, this role will serve as a key liaison between internal teams, rail carriers, and customers, supporting both strategic and operational transportation initiatives.

 

Responsibilities:

Rail Operations & Tracking

  • Track and trace all railcars moving to customers across all business units.
  • Identify and report delays, rejections, and service disruptions.
  • Provide daily and weekly railcar status reports, including loaded cars and customer hold offenders.
  • Review and authorize invoices related to rail operations.
  • Use railroad websites for billing and diversion requests.

Carrier & System Communication

  • Communicate with railroads via phone and email to resolve issues such as delays, bad orders (BO), estimated time of release, and other cases.
  • Identify and resolve communication issues between SAP and Raven TMS.

Reporting & Analysis

  • Analyze and update transit times across all business units, incorporating seasonal impacts (e.g., winter, hurricane season), and reflect findings in quarterly rail performance reports, including customer hold days.
  • Support railcar fleet sizing for all business lines.
  • Support the OTD (On-Time Delivery) report process, including shipment end updates and late reason code analysis.

Customer & SAP Support

  • Assist Customer Service Representatives (CSRs) with new customer setups and updates in SAP via flat file modifications.
  • Develop and test SAP changes related to rail information.
  • Review and provide Proof of Delivery (POD) for customer demurrage claims.
  • Resolve issues related to Sales Orders (SO) and Delivery Notes (DN) from shipping sites.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business Administration, or related field or 3+ years of experience in rail logistics or transportation coordination.
  • Strong knowledge of North American rail systems and SAP.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish (written and verbal).
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and transportation management systems.
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills.
