Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Program Manager, Digital Manufacturing with a strong manufacturing background—preferably in the chemicals or process industries—to drive the global deployment of advanced digital solutions across our operations. This role is ideal for a seasoned manufacturing professional who combines deep operational expertise with a passion for Industry 4.0, innovation, and value creation. Experience in Continuous Improvement (Lean, Six Sigma, OpEx) is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities:

Program Leadership & Strategy
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for global and site leaders, ensuring alignment between enterprise digital manufacturing strategy and site level execution. 
  • Define and execute program goals that accelerate digital maturity, operational efficiency, and measurable value across multiple chemical manufacturing sites.
  • Build a strong Digital Manufacturing brand through clear communication, change leadership, and cross plant engagement.
  • Manage program budgets, commercial contracts, and vendor relationships to ensure efficient, value driven delivery.
  • Track financial performance, cost efficiency, and program KPIs to support transparent decision-making. 
  • Ensure all digital deployments meet relevant safety, cybersecurity, regulatory, and process safety standards. 
  • Lead, coach, and develop a global digital manufacturing team, including direct reports and cross functional contributors; build capabilities and enable high performance across regions. 
Roadmap Development & Execution 
  • Develop and support site-specific digital roadmaps tailored to chemical and process manufacturing environments. 
  • Lead cross functional deployment teams to scale digital transformation initiatives, ensuring repeatable and sustainable outcomes. 
  • Collaborate closely with digital product owners, engineers, site leaders, and analysts to deploy MES, IIoT, advanced analytics, automation, and AI enabled solutions. 
  • Leverage continuous improvement methodologies to prioritize opportunities, optimize processes, and enhance adoption and impact.
Stakeholder Engagement & Communication
  • Facilitate workshops, digital capability training, and engagement sessions to drive user adoption and culture change.
  • Provide structured and transparent updates on program progress, risks, and impact to executive leadership and operations teams.
  • Promote best practice sharing, replication of high value use cases, and global collaboration across plants. 
Commercial Partner Collaboration
  • Build and maintain strong partnerships with technology vendors, integrators, and service providers supporting digital manufacturing initiatives. 
  • Co-develop scalable digital capabilities tailored to chemical manufacturing conditions and requirements.
  • Monitor vendor performance, solution quality, and service levels to ensure commitments are met.
  • Lead joint planning, roadmap reviews, and continuous improvement cycles with partner organizations. 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related technical field; advanced degree is a plus.
  • 10+ years of manufacturing experience, ideally in chemical, petrochemical, or processindustry operations. 
  • Demonstrated experience leading digital manufacturing or Industry 4.0 transformation initiatives. 
  • Strong Continuous Improvement background (Lean, Six Sigma, OpEx)—strongly preferred. 
  • Experience leading or developing teams (direct or matrix), with proven capability in coaching and capability building. 
  • Proven track record managing large programs, budgets, commercial contracts, and crosssite deployments. 
  • Excellent communication and stakeholderengagement skills; capable of influencing senior leadership. 
  • Experience facilitating global workshops and training (virtual and in person). 
  • Strong familiarity with digital manufacturing tools such as MES, historians, IIoT platforms, digital twins, analytics, or automation systems. 
  • Deep understanding of process operations, EHS, process safety, maintenance, reliability, and production systems. 
  • Passion for digital innovation and building sustainable digital capabilities in manufacturing environments. 
  • Location: at a Celanese Manufacturing Site in the US or the Dallas Headquarters office. (Periodic travel to manufacturing sites required; U.S. location strongly preferred)
