Overview:

The E/I Maintenance Planner is responsible for supporting the Narrows VA maintenance team to by developing, maintaining, and continuously improving maintenance work plans, including Preventative, Predictive, and Corrective Maintenance. The Maintenance Planner works with mechanics and engineers to develop job scops and insure materials an resources and document in SAP to computerized maintenance management system to facilitate the efficient execution of repairs.   

Responsibilities:

  • Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, the Maintenance Planner works in collaboration with the Maintenance team to create and validate work plans.
  • Determine materials needed along with availability then collaborate with storeroom and material coordinators on spare parts issuance, assignment of parts for work orders, and inventory level management and encourage teamwork between all functions.
  • Discuss work requests with Asset Leaders, DEL's, Team Captain and other planners to identify all potential issues and help reduce added job plan scope.
  • Ensure job plans are accurate, detailed, and updated based on Technicians and/or Maintenance Team Captain feedback.
  • Have a clear understanding of the job and how it is to be completed.
  • Maintain and update the plant’s SAP database.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical and mechanical maintenance techniques.
  • Fully support maintenance initiatives that enhance safety and compliance.  Ensure all maintenance activities follow safety policies and industry best practices (OSHA, PN's, NEC, NFPA..etc).
  • Participate in PHAs, MOCs, RCA's and support resolution of safety notifications.
  • Actively participate in scheduling meeting with operations to finalize priority of work orders, optimum downtime windows, and necessary lead times.
  • Model positive leadership and support a culture of ownership and collaboration.
  • Mentor and develop team members in key skills.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree (preferred) OR experience in lieu of degree is also acceptable.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in maintenance, heavy industry, or related field.
  • Strong self-direction and cross-functional communication skills.
  • High stress tolerance and adaptability in fast-paced environments.
  • Strong electrical and instrumentation(E&I) and mechanical background required, sound judgment, and proactive problem-solving mindset.
  • SAP or similar CMMS platform proficiency.
  • Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Previous Maintenance Planner or Maintenance Supervisor experience a plus.
  • Knowledge and understand of the cost drivers of maintenance in manufacturing operations as well as continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Analytical and technical skills.
