Responsibilities:

This is an onsite, in-person position located at: 8480 DuPont Road, Washington, WV 26101

 

The Production Leader is an operations leadership role does not have direct reports, however, is responsible for decision making and leadership for day-to-day process operations.  This position routinely backs up the Area Manager.

 

Working Conditions:

  • This role involves a blend of office and field work, with a strong emphasis on maintaining a visible and engaged leadership presence on the production floor. 

Roles/Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the all the Safety, Health and Environmental aspects of the operation.
  • Responsible for conformance to Process Safety Management (PSM) requirements.  Lead and participate in PSM activities and audits.
  • Responsible for manufacturing of many different engineered polymer products.
  • Responsible for meeting all business objectives including production, volume, yield, uptime, cost…etc.
  • Lead and facilitate daily production meetings.
  • Lead and participate improvement projects.
  • Lead and investigate Incidents / Variances/ Customer Complaints (Conduct Problem Solving Sessions – Root Cause Failure Analysis)
  • Responsible for creating the appropriate work environment and executing Human Resource policies.
  • Responsible to work closely with supply chain to build the production schedule.
  • Coordination with Shift Leads, Engineers, and Maintenance Coordinator for maintenance and technical testing and needs.
  • Responsible for oversight of the Packaging Area.  Provide guidance to contract employees.
  • Lead improvement and Capital projects throughout the area.
  • Work with maintenance, technical, and operations as needed to trouble shoot area issues or coordinate incident investigations and problem-solving sessions (safety, quality, reliability, etc.).
  • Review and approve operating directions, blanking lists, lock out sheets, etc.
  • Attend daily/weekly maintenance planning meetings to help prioritize work needs for operations.

 

Accountability:

  • Held accountable to Safety, Health, Environmental metrics:  LWC, TRI, OTJ, Tier I, II, III Incidents, and any process incidents.
  • This role is accountable for all Operations metrics including SHE, Yield, Uptime, Cost, and Quality.  Accountability is measured by meeting the PO for these metrics set by the business.

 

Competencies:

  • Teamwork / collaboration, embracing change and engagement, results oriented.

 

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree required
  • Engineering or Advanced degree highly preferred
  • At least 3 years' experience in manufacturing operations
  • Strong computer skills (Microsoft Applications, SAP/SAPPM)
  • Ability to work well with others using influence
  • Able to organize, plan, and prioritize multiple tasks and changing priorities.
