Responsible for building laboratory and/or pilot scale process units and operating them to accomplish project goals. Unit example includes reactors, distillation columns, absorbers, etc. Analyze sample compositions by using analytical instruments. Troubleshoot and maintain process units.
The successful candidate will have a strong desire in process improvement and a clear understanding of the scientific methods involved. The candidate is expected to keep detailed records in laboratory notebooks. All projects support Celanese’s businesses by testing process improvement options, understanding the origins of production unit observations, evaluating alternative ingredients, reducing impurity concentrations, and developing brand-new processes, etc.
The chosen candidate will also participate and contribute to the safety program by critically reviewing proposed changes to the process units, drafting operating procedures, contributing to new safe operating and working procedures, and participating in safety committee duties.
