Compensation Specialist

Overview:

As a member of the Global Total Rewards (Compensation team), the Compensation Specialist will play a vital role in supporting the design, development and administration of Celanese Compensation programs.  You will work closely with HR partners to identify and address compensation issues and ensure that our compensation programs are competitive, fair, and aligned with business objectives.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with HR Partners to support, respond, and provide guidance on compensation-related issues. 
  • Provides assistance and support to all organizational levels, in the interpretation and application of compensation plans and programs.  Responds to employee inquiries or refers to respective HR Business Partner.
  • Assists with administration of global employee Compensation programs (bonus, merit, etc.)  Implements changes to programs based on organization needs, market shifts and changes in regulations.
  • Conduct market pricing analysis to appropriately level jobs within Celanese’s compensation structure. 
  • Oversees the distribution of compensation communications for internal employees.
  • Works with internal departments to manage, update and maintain various compensation elements in the HRIS system.  Conducts routing audits of data to ensure accuracy and consistency.
  • Assists with the calculation of local bonus, sales incentive and other employee incentive payments.
  • Assists with stock administration
  • Document compensation regional processes and create a compensation play book. 
  • Provide analysis to support special projects and ad hoc requests as needed
  • Performs other related duties as required.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Finance/Accounting, Mathematics or a related field
  • 1-3 years progressively responsible experience in compensation administration or business analysis required.
  • Global compensation experience a plus.
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel.  Ability to create and use complex excel formulas. 
  • Requires the ability to communicate with internal and/or external customers in order to obtain and/or provide explanations and/or information on technical and other complex concepts to individuals with little or no background in the subject under discussion.
