Overview:

The Advanced Specialist - Trade Compliance is responsible for ensuring that the company adheres to international trade laws, regulations, and internal policies. This role involves managing import and export compliance, conducting risk assessments, and collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to ensure smooth cross-border operations.

Responsibilities:

  1. Manage and oversee imports/exports related to all shipping modes for EM products:
    1. Request and validate import documents complying with MX Customs Regulations
    2. Coordinate instructions with Planning, Logistics, ocean carriers, external vendors and manufacturing plants
    3. Validate classification and customs regulations
    4. Provide instructions of customs clearance and maintain closely communication with customs broker
  2. Maintain import customs files as required by law.
  3. Manage certificates of origin in compliance with applicable FTA´s.
  4. Manage a post entry audit for US Exports
  5. Provide applicable accounting reports to the Finance team related to foreign trade operations.

Qualifications:

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Advanced English
  • +5 years of experience in trade compliance, controlled materials, or a related regulatory field.
  • Ability to independently plan, organize, control, and coordinate customs operations
  • Strong analytical skills to interpret complex regulatory frameworks and assess compliance risks
  • Knowledge of Free Trade Agreements
  • Effective communication skills (oral and written) and be able to influence others
  • Collaborative mindset to work effectively with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders
  • Experience working with different groups and stakeholders in delivering results

 

Desired Qualifications

  • Knowledge in SAP-GTS
  • Audit experience
