Overview:

Celanese is seeking a full-time technical writer to support their Global Manufacturing Technical Training Program.  The technical writer is responsible for creating, editing, and maintaining instructional materials and documentation that support training programs for various manufacturing roles. This role involves collaborating with subject matter experts (SME) to gather information, ensuring that content is clear, concise, and accessible to the intended audience. The technical writer must have strong writing and communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to translate complex technical information into easy-to-understand language. Additionally, they may be involved in developing e-learning content, user manuals, and other educational resources to enhance the learning experience within the organization.

Responsibilities:

  • Manufacturing Training Content Development: Transform the foundational content from the SMEs into a storyboard and organize it for the instructional designer by compiling all materials into structured modules, lessons, and topics, and write quiz questions if applicable
  • Writing Scripts: Write or edit scripts for instructional texts and/or audio narration
  • Collaboration: Work closely with subject matter experts, trainers, and other stakeholders to gather information and ensure accuracy and clarity in the documentation.
  • Multimedia Integration: Incorporate multimedia elements such as graphics, videos, and interactive components to enhance the learning experience.
  • Feedback Incorporation: Gather feedback from users and stakeholders to continuously improve the quality and effectiveness of the documentation.
  • Manage multiple projects: Manage multiple documentation projects simultaneously, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to project timelines.

Qualifications:

Educational Background:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Sciences, or a related field preferred

Experience:

  • Proven experience in technical writing such as process letters or research papers
  • Minimum 5 years of chemical manufacturing experience.
  • Posses a strong understanding of manufacturing technical concepts and be able to translate complex information into clear, concise, and user-friendly content.

Skills:

  • Proficiency in using documentation tools such as Microsoft Office
  • Familiarity with manufacturing technical concepts and terminology
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to translate complex technical information into clear, concise, and user-friendly documentation
  • Strong research skills to gather information from various sources, including engineers and technical staff
  • High attention to detail to ensure accuracy and consistency in documentation
  • Ability to work collaboratively with engineers, product managers, and other stakeholders.
  • Ability to adapt to new tools and technologies as needed
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to meet deadlines
