Overview:

The Product Quality Supervisor (leader of the Shift Quality Team) is a critical role in the Acetate Tow Manufacturing Organization. The quality performance of each continuously running production line is the direct responsibility of the SQF Leader and their team. The SQF Team is responsible for the statistical process control and equipment adjustment to sustain target performance with a low coefficient of variation for all product-specific quality parameters.

Responsibilities:

  • Manages and prioritizes activities and efforts of the core team.
  • Provides quality/product expertise to make real time decisions.
  • Provides coordination and prioritization for quality stakeholders.
  • Ensures that the unit is running within standard operating conditions.
  • Completes review of process, product, and equipment related data critical to achieving the quality plan.
  • Analyzes data and adjusts processes as needed.
  • Completes daily regimen to identify quality measurement equipment related emerging issues.
  • Communicates and strategizes activities with Technology Leader.
  • Communicates team performance against shift and daily targets.
  • Validates laboratory testing procedures are available and followed.
  • Supports Process Experts to optimize unit performance (drives unit performance towards KPIs) based on timely material quality results.
  • Participates in validation of quality corrective actions as requested by the 24/7 Team Captain
  • Ensures the integrity of the online and offline quality measurement is within design and calibration.
  • Reports non-compliant product and provides recommendations for improvements or rework.
  • Participates in MOC and RCA.
  • Communicates and trains members of 24/7 team on visual quality expectations and requirements.
  • Escalates ideas and improvement projects to Technology Leader.

Qualifications:

Strong background in the production of Cellulose Acetate and Acetate Tow

Strong communication skills (written and verbal)

Experience with Statistical Process Control

Strong mechanical aptitude

Prior Team Leadership Experience

Innovative Mindset
