The Finishing Plant is responsible for purging, blending and packaging of polymer products, which are produced in the Compounding and Polymers Departments. 

The Finishing Plant Operator (Warehouse Operator)(S) plays a critical role in ensuring the safe and efficient production of high-quality finished products. 

  • The duties can be physically demanding and may include occasional heavy lifting, standing, and walking for long periods of time throughout the shift and working in extreme temperatures for prolonged periods of time.

The Finishing Plant Operator (Warehouse Operator) (S) is a member of a multi-skilled team, whose responsibilities involve:

  • Purging and blending of polymer products
  • Cleaning of Transfer and Dust Collector systems
  • Packaging of finished products and housekeeping duties.
  • Forklift Truck operation
  • Hopper Car staging

 

Qualifications:

Required Qualifications

 

  • High School Diploma or recognized equivalent.
  • 1-2 years of Industrial experience
  • Valid Motor Vehicle Operating license required.
  • Forklift Truck experience.
  • Ability to follow Policies and Procedures
  • Ability to assess risk.
  • Ability to work at heights.
  • Ability to work with minimal Supervision e.g., working alone.
  • Heavy lifting, standing, and walking for long periods of time.
  • Working in extreme temperatures for prolonged periods of time
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Outlook and Excel
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Willing to work a 12-hour rotating shift schedule including holidays, nights, and weekends.
  • Willing to work overtime, unit outages and turnarounds.

 

 

Desired Qualifications

 

  • Hopper Car Mover experience a plus
  • Safe Wok Permit / Energy Isolation experience a plus
  • Procedure (SOP) development experience a plus
  • Physically fit

 

 

Compensation

 

  • $41.46/hr as per CBA
