Overview:

As a Chemical Process Improvement Manager, you'll drive improvements in technology and reliability, oversee safety protocols, and align enhancements with business goals, all while managing project budgets and timelines for the Methenol Unit. 

Responsibilities:

As the leader of a team comprising process engineers, chemists, and process control engineers, you will:

  • Spearhead the continuous improvement plan, focusing on technology and reliability over a five-year period.
  • Ensure timely conduct of Process Hazard Analyses (PHA) as per schedule.
  • Enhance manufacturing processes to boost Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) performance, reduce costs, and enhance efficiency.
  • Drive digitalization efforts within the unit.
  • Identify and monitor productivity improvements for the team.
  • Offer troubleshooting support to the production core team as required.
  • Proactively address emerging risks affecting safety, reliability, or product quality.
  • Cultivate a robust safety, environmental, and inclusive culture.
  • Lead efforts to identify, mitigate, resolve, and document process safety events.
  • Develop team members to foster continual improvement and measurable results.
  • Collaborate with internal and external experts to enhance processes aligned with business goals.
  • Oversee project economics evaluation and process design assessment.
  • Liaise with Manufacturing Leaders to eliminate technical hurdles.
  • Ensure adherence to project timelines, milestones, and budgets.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 7 years of experience in chemical manufacturing, syngas, or petroleum refining.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Chemistry.
  • Strong commitment to Environmental, Health, and Safety Excellence, with knowledge of Process Safety Management and regulatory standards.
  • Ensure timely conduct of Process Hazard Analyses (PHA) as per schedule.
  • Proficiency in project management, planning, budgeting, and regulatory compliance.
  • Demonstrated ability to motivate, influence, and develop teams, with prior experience in coaching or performance management.
  • Excellent technical and communication skills, both written and verbal.
