Overview:

The Celanese Winona, MN site is located near the Mississippi river and produces Long Fiber reinforced Thermoplastics (LFT). The role, as a member of the Site Leadership Team, owns the site’s reliability and maintenance programs. This role is instrumental in developing the maintenance team to achieve their top potential.

Responsibilities:

  • Member of Site Leadership Team.
  • Leads Maintenance and Reliability Teams to achieve performance goals.
  • Develops people to achieve their top potential through their key abilities and attributes. Provides performance feedback to all team members. Ensures training to develop the technical capabilities of the team.
  • Develops and implements appropriate reliability strategies for equipment and processes. Drives long term reliability improvement through Bad Actor and Single Point of Failure elimination. Creates robust predictive and preventative monitoring/action plans and spare equipment stock.
  • Drives continuous improvement through 5S principles, Cause Analysis/Resolution, and Strategy advancement. Recognizes patterns regarding equipment functionality and performance and anticipates failures before they occur.
  • Owns the site maintenance workflows, reliability work processes, and warehouse. Tracks key performance indicators and proactively responds to them.
  • Documents, reviews, and supports maintenance activities performed by the 24/7 Team.      
  • Ensures that work is conducted to support stewardship (EHS) compliance, quality, reliability, and engagement initiatives.
  • Consistently partners with site Operations and Technology Leaders to shape plant performance.
  • Leads and provides direction on Mechanical Integrity Programs and Technical Directives, including the reliability roadmap.
  • Provides input on vendor selection through procurement.
  • Ensures changes are appropriately documented on various platforms – SAP, equipment files, etc.
  • Manages maintenance budget and participates in development of Annual Operating Plan.
  • Networks with peers at other sites and across industry to identify and adopt best practices for technology and reliability programs.
  • Participates as a core member for MOC’s, PHA’s, etc.
  • Spends routine time in the field to audit work process and work performance.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in technical field (preferred), experience in lieu of degree also acceptable.
  • Experience in people leadership/managing teams preferred.
  • Manufacturing maintenance and operations experience preferred.
  • Effective communicator
  • Experience in applying reliability philosophies and continuous improvement.
  • Ability to understand production planning, scheduling, and capabilities.
  • Ability to identify emerging issues and create organizational movement to address.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Ability to manage complexity and make collaborative decisions.
