Operate the Vectra polymer production unit to achieve flawless stewardship, quality, reliability, and engagement;
Learn all jobs in the unit including floor operations, control room, and solid state;
Understand and follow all Site and Unit Safety procedures and protocols;
Perform all functions necessary to make polymers including operation of all equipment and Distributed Control System (DCS);
Perform preliminary troubleshooting on equipment and process malfunctions and be prepared and able to make first attempt repairs where appropriate;
Support maintenance in the unit through LOTO of equipment and issuing Safe Work Permits when required;
Strictly follow all batch recipe sheets and SOCs.
Maintain accurate records of all observations and results.
Accurately and thoroughly reporting these data via written (Logbook & PGRs) and oral reports to Vectra Engineers.
Enter work notifications into SAP when malfunctioning equipment is identified and initial trouble-shooting completed. Timeliness and thoroughness is critical.
Qualifications:
High School Diploma or equivalent
Advanced technical courses or associates degree is preferred.
Minimum 2 years of manufacturing experience a preferred
Strong equipment and mechanical skills.
Ability to troubleshoot "on the fly"
Demonstrated ability to learn and become proficient with various provided computer tools
SAP, Ranking Database, Vectra E-Logbook, Sample Manager, and others, and Microsoft Office Suite (particularly Excel and Word)
Strong understanding of how equipment and process affect product properties
Ability to work independently (self-directed) as well as a member of the Vectra Team
Strong oral and written communication skills
Excellent observation skills
Strong understanding of ESHA and other regulatory issues.
Ability to:
Work rotating shifts
Climb 5 sets of stairs (5 stories)
Lift 40lbs to chest level
Use hand tools to tighten bolts
Use an impact driver to tighten bolts
Perform overhead work
Operate a forklift (sit down and walk behind walkies) or other PIV (Power Industrial Vehicle)
