Overview:

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Regulatory Professional to join our growing Product Stewardship team. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring our company's compliance with key chemical regulations in North America.

Responsibilities:

LOCATION - Can be based in any of the following locations;

  • Dallas, TX/Florence, KY/Wilmington, DE

 

Regulatory Compliance:

  • Ensure marketability of Celanese products under regulatory aspects, in particular TSCA and CEPA regulations, including review and performance of processes to ensure e.g. timely inventory reporting, new chemical notifications, and other reporting requirements;
  • Track regulatory deadlines and proactively manage submissions to regulatory agencies;
  • Evaluate existing and new chemicals legislation for relevance to Celanese's business activities, develop strategies and associated scenarios to address company-specific impacts;
  • Maintain detailed documentation of compliance activities, e.g., records of polymer exemptions, Consent Order reviews, TSCA 8(e) and 8(c) submissions, TSCA SNUR and Canadian SNAc.

Advocacy

  • Represent Celanese's interests within the framework of chemical legislation and related topics (North American legislation or initiatives, federal and state level);
  • Represent Celanese in industry advocacy groups such as those operated by the American Chemistry Council;
  • Work closely with internal Legal and Governmental Affairs teams to ensure company positions are understood and shared with key external stakeholders;
  • Contribute to preparation of responses to government agencies in Celanese's advocacy activities.

Communication

  • Close coordination with all impacted Celanese stakeholders to ensure alignment on product stewardship initiatives
  • Represent Celanese's interests and position in communication with customers, suppliers, and authorities

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Environmental Sciences, Toxicology, or a related field required; Master's degree or equivalent experience preferred
  • Minimum 10+ years of experience in regulatory compliance, Product Stewardship, or a related field;
  • Strong understanding of TSCA and CEPA regulations;
  • Excellent research, analytical, and problem-solving skills;
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal;
  • Experience with regulatory database management software, e.g., CDX and SWIM, a plus;
  • Experience with SAP EHS module a plus;
  • Second language proficiency (Spanish) a plus.
