Responsibilities:

Celanese Washington Works Site currently has a need for a Project Manager. The Washington Works site is located on the banks of the Ohio River near Parkersburg WV, the site employs about 450 Employees. The site (formerly DuPont Mobility & Materials Business) began manufacturing here in 1948. We are among the largest Celanese manufacturing facilities in the world with 5 different Manufacturing Units located here at our 700-acre site.

 

This is an onsite position located at: 8480 DuPont Road, Washington, WV 26101

 

Responsibilities 

  • Defines/Refines project scope, timeline, key milestones, and budget managing project costs & approvals for spend.  
  • Identifies and deploys required resources to execute project through the lifecycle successfully and with desired velocity.  
  • Assesses team functional capability, identifies expertise gaps within the project team and solicits the steering team for necessary staffing support. 
  • Monitors project plan by reviewing project design, specifications, and schedule (review with supervisor if necessary) and manages project approvals.  
  • Resolves or escalates issues that might put project deliverables at risk.  
  • Leads the team in identifying non-cap alternatives or lower capital options, using the appropriate VCPs, following best practices, evaluating scope options, conducting risks analyses and developing mitigation plans. 
  • Ensures site personnel are staffed and preparing for commissioning and start-up of the new facilities, including training, procedure updates, maintenance PM records updates, etc.; ensures schedules are aligned with supply chain and operations/maintenance needs, such as TARs, to determine when outages are available if necessary. 
  • Continuously updates project pipeline in order to maintain and 5 year look ahead.  
  • Manages all aspects of multiple related projects to ensure the overall program is aligned to and supports the achievement of strategic objectives.  
  • Participates in establishing practices, templates, policies, tools, and partnerships to expand and mature these capabilities for the organization.  
  • Effective Communication managing expectations of key stakeholders, enable decision making and maintains full life cycle of project with regular reviews.  
  • Some travel may be required.  

Qualifications:

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree with 2+ years of experience OR  5+ years of equivalent project management experience in the Engineering Technology field 
  • Financial Planning/Budgeting  
  • Project Management
