Responsibilities:

The Regional Corporate Process Control Engineer supports Celanese’s Process Control functional requirements across CE’s manufacturing facilities.  Some key responsibilities of the role include the following:

  • Support successful deployment and execution of the CE Global Strategic Process Automation Roadmap (SPAR)
  • Support the CE Global Process Automation community.
  • Provide Process Automation expertise and support for CE manufacturing sites.
  • Provide Process Control Engineering support for projects included within the SPAR and Major Capital Projects.  This support to potentially include the following:
    • Insuring project technical solutions are aligned with corporate standards and the STRAP.
    • Document development / reviews
    • Automation System configuration development, testing and commissioning.
    • FAT, SAT, Commissioning, and Startup
    • Risk Reviews, HAZOP, CHAZHOP as required.
    • Sharing lessons learned across the company.
  • Provide Process Control Engineering support for development and / or revision to corporate standards.
  • Serve as Technical interface to CE Automation & Engineering suppliers for the Process Control discipline.
  • Support planning & coordination of DCS control system upgrades based on existing system status and priority.
  • Support the definition of corporate strategy for system upgrades and vendor selection.
  • Support the implementation of the DCS systems as well as corporate strategy to achieve excellence in digital manufacturing and transformation towards Industry 4.0
  • Ensure the DCS system selection 'decision tree' is followed by the major sites, ensuring alignment with the Operation Leader, and ensuring competitive bids from the major DCS suppliers.
  • Establish credibility with guidance and support individual system upgrades
  • Support Advance Process Control and OTS revitalization efforts along with the team of BPCS and process control experts.
  • Support BPCS implementations in Major Projects / New Builds
  • Support effort to deploy OTS for various units across the Celanese organization.
  • Ability to lead / support DCS systems upgrades from concept through operational support.

 

Qualifications:

  • Hands on experience with Honeywell TDC/Experion, Emerson Delta V DCS Systems, and common PLC platforms.
  • 10+ Years of relevant industrial plant experience
  • BS Degree in an Engineering field (Chemical, Mechanical, Process, Computer Science, Electrical, Instrumentation)
  • Excellent communication skills with a global network of specialists.
  • Track record deploying Advanced Process Controls (SME)
  • Ability to travel 25-50% of the time.

Desirable:

  • OSI PI and Aspen DMC controls
