Responsibilities:

The Technology Leader – will lead long term capital plan and process improvements within the manufacturing unit and provide leadership to team members supporting the unit. This is a great opportunity to work in a role involved in the whole cycle of projects, from initial development, planning, implementation to impact thereafter.  They will also be responsible for continuous improvement within the Production unit and support Process Safety Hazard Analysis and implementation of recommendations.  The Technology Leader  must have strong problem solving skills and organizational savvy to create schedules and action plans to ensure continuous  improvement for the operations team.

 

Responsibilities:

 

Key responsibilities include:

  • Develop and provide strategy for the UTP (Unit Technology Plan)
  • Provide the technology resources, knowledge and plans to pursue and achieve entitlement operation
  • Bridge between external resources and the Unit Team
  • Vision on future needs and improvements of the unit
  • Models Celanese leader expectations and actively coaches/mentors the Team members to provide continuous improvement for the Unit.
  • Addresses emerging operational issues related to Operations
  • Maintain and update the Unit Productivity plan for the unit
  • Support production of high quality product through equipment and process troubleshooting
  • Implement new processes and equipment as required to enhance product performance or consistency
  • Assist in planning, organizing, and reporting on trials within the Unit
  • Develop and Implement improvement plans for common manufacturing losses
  • Assist in process, product, or customer concern problem solving activities
  • Liaison with corporate Technology groups to support information exchange

Qualifications:

Qualifications:

  • BS in Engineering discipline
    • Chemical Engineering a plus
  • Minimum 5-10 years of manufacturing experience
    • The following experience is a plus:
      • Chemical manufacturing
      • Manufacturing Operations
  • Minimum 3 years supervisory/leadership experience.
  • Strong organizational skills; ability to manage multiple projects/tasks/programs.
  • Self-directed, self-starter and ability to operate/prioritize with ambiguity
  • Strong communication skills
  • Strong collaboration and influence skills
  • Knowledgeable of plant operations capabilities and limitations
  • Knowledgeable  of Process Safety OSHA 19.10
