Responsibilities:

This role will work in a manufacturing unit at the Narrows, VA Celanese facility as a Process Engineer in a  Technology steward position. This role will work in a part of a technical team embedded in an operational unit. This team has the objectives to improve safety (process and occupational), quality and productivity. This role uses manufacturing data to identify and implement improvements. This role also generates capital project scopes for hand-off to the capital project group for execution. They also act as the area liaison for capital project execution.

 

Responsibilities

    • Integration as part of a team with operations, ESHA, technical, and project engineers and manufacturing personnel.
    • Develop flow schemes to determine mass and energy balances, control logic, and equipment specifications.
    • Model processes as part of the overall sizing/design processes.
    • Continued involvement in project execution and start up beyond the design phase.
    • Interacting with leading internal and external experts, vendors, and other outside consultants to develop and implement improvements.
    • Providing technical guidance on areas of expertise to plant manufacturing and engineering organizations.
    • Performing process PHAs, MOCs, RCA’s, FMEA’s

Qualifications:

 


Required Education:
  • B.S. Chemical Engineering Degree 

Desirable Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

    • 1-2 years engineering experience
    • 5 years’ experience in manufacturing
    • PHA lead or scribe experience
    • Project management experience
    • Training in Lean or Six Sigma methodologies

      • Able to troubleshoot, correct and make timely decisions
      • Proven collaborator
      • Process safety knowledge
      • Analyze complex datasets
      • Project scope/design experience
