Responsibilities:

This position requires working within a team environment to draw on experience in U.S. federal tax return. Candidates will identify tax issues and provide tax analysis for Celanese's international entities.


Core responsibility is to manage outside service provider in preparation of the U.S. international aspects of the annual tax filing (e.g., subpart F, GILTI, E&P, and foreign tax credit estimates). Knowledge of local country statutory rules and ability to review local country provision from a U.S. GAAP perspective a plus.

 

Additional responsibilities include:

 

  • Researching and preparing materials for projects related to tax planning considerations and initiatives
  • Working closely with consultants on tax return and review of various tax planning projects
  • Working on various projects related to process improvements
  • Supporting the international tax team and consultants on various compliance, provision, and project-based tasks

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors of Science in Accounting or related field required; Masters in Tax or Accounting preferred.
    Certified Public Accountant preferred
  • 6-8 Years of Experience
  • Understanding of U.S. federal income tax international tax issues (e.g., GILTI, Subpart F, foreign tax credits).
  • Ability to analyze and determine the impact of transactions and related tax attributes.
  • Must be organized and have experience managing multiple workstreams at the same time.
  • Experience in preparing and reviewing work, with a focus on international taxation
  • Experience with tax preparation software (CorpTax preferred)
  • Thorough attention to detail
  • Ability to not only gather and report information but also to analyze results and identify areas for improvement
  • Experience in tax planning or preparing/reviewing work, preferably with a focus on international taxation
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, team environment
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience with accounting for income taxes in accordance with ASC 740 a plus
  • Advanced use/knowledge of Excel and PowerPoint
  • Ability to manage multiple responsibilities and deliverables
