Responsibilities:

  • Leads a team of process engineers, chemists, and process control engineers.
  • Owns and maintains the technology and reliability focused continuous improvement plan (5 year capital plan). 
  • Owns the work process for ensuring PHA’s are conducted according to defined schedule.
  • Optimize manufacturing processes to provide the most effective technical solutions to improve EHS performance, decrease cost and increase efficiency.
  • Develops and owns the unit digitalization efforts.
  • Identifies and tracks productivity enhancements for the unit team.
  • Assist the core team (production) with troubleshooting issues on an as needed basis.
  • Raise awareness and provides solutions to emerging risks that may impact safety, reliability, or product quality.
  • Drive a strong safety, environmental, and inclusive culture.
  • Lead individuals and teams to identify, mitigate, resolve and document process safety events for the production unit.
  • Develop highly capable personnel who are driving continual, measurable improvement and results.
  • Collaborate with internal and external technical experts for process enhancement in alignment with business strategy and objectives.
  • Direct personnel in evaluation of project economics and process design.
  • Coordinates with Manufacturing Leaders to remove technical roadblocks.
  • Responsible for project timelines, milestones and budgets.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 10 years of experience in operating chemical manufacturing, syngas or petroleum refining facility.
  • Degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Chemistry.
  • Commitment to Environmental, Health, and Safety Excellence and knowledge of Process Safety Management and regulatory requirements.
  • Experience with project management, planning, estimating, financial budgets and analysis, regulatory requirements
  • Demonstrated ability in motivating, influencing and developing people and prior experience with coaching or performance management.
  • Strong technical and communication skills, written and verbal.
