Responsibilities:

Primary responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:                                                  

  • Responding to work orders and unplanned maintenance requests during shift.
  • Determining the cause of equipment breakdowns; fixing the issues within scope of role. When necessary, escalating issues to the appropriate next level including ideas for resolving the problem.
  • Regularly using hand tools, powered tools, electronic testing equipment or other means to repair breakdowns, perform preventative maintenance, complete work orders and check equipment.
  • Following scheduled preventive maintenance procedures and reporting any necessary repairs that fall outside of preventative maintenance.
  • Reading and interpreting equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.
  • Completing documentation related to closing work orders and equipment testing.

Qualifications:

  • HS Diploma or equivalent
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Minimum 3 years of verifiable Industrial Maintenance work experience including:
  • Troubleshooting plastics compounding equipment (extruders, feeders, pelletizers, classifiers, conveying systems)
  • Basic understanding of electricity, pneumatics and hydraulics
  • Troubleshooting AB PLC programs and drives
  • Welding and machinist experience are preferred
  • Strong mechanical aptitude including proficiency in industrial electronics, IE: 3 phase motors, motor control systems, AC and DC drives, PLC's, heater controls, HMI, etc.
  • Ability to prioritize work as well as work well with others
  • Ability to work with limited supervision
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Environmental and physical requirements of this position include but aren’t limited to:
  • Overtime
  • Working in confined spaces
  • Working at elevated heights
  • Standing, walking and climbing stairs and ladders
  • Regular crouching
  • Ability to wear a partial respirator to protect against dust and fumes
