Responsibilities:

Provide technical support to production units, environmental activities, and plant projects to improve unit stewardship, quality, and reliability.

 

Additionally:

  • Gatekeeper for new technology, trials and implementation regarding product, raw material, process and equipment.
  • Develop and implement improvement plan for the unit technology.
  • Scale up interface between production and outside resources.
  • Works with Manufacturing Experts on resolving technical issues.
  • Drive improvements to production capacity, efficiency, process safety and environmental performance in accordance with the business and unit technology plans.
  • Collaborate with the Process Safety Program Manager or outside servicing companies to facilitate Process Hazard Analysis (PHA).
  • Develop and maintain plan to address gap from entitlement targets, most effective technology (MET), and best practices.
  • Leverage improvements between different sites or industries to continuously improve the technology and the production process.
  • Continuously engage in the production facility to identify and remove barriers inhibiting flawless production.
  • Work with Capital Project Manager on process discipline related project design and installations.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering
  • At least 10 years of process engineering experience.
  • Ability to multitask and handle multiple simultaneous assignments.
  • Ability to work as self-directed individual.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to effectively faciliate technical discussions.  Strong communication skills with cross functional groups (operations, reliability, vendors, regional and global resources).
  • Ability to work with other groups such as Maintenance, Reliability, and Operations.
  • General computer skills such as Microsoft Office.
  • Project management skills.
  • Ability to analyze complex situations and think strategically.
  • Ability to think creatively.
  • Technical, reliability, and process safety knowledge.
  • Knowledge of process design, instrumentation, process control, statistics, and process safety.
  • Knowledge of process engineering tools, e.g. ASPEN, HTRI, hydraulics, etc.

 

Desirable:

  •  Working knowledge of Celanese SEPs
