Our program targets college students looking for internships the summer before their senior year. The purpose is to work towards full-time opportunities, for a post-graduation start. We are currently recruiting for the 12-week paid internship program that will run from May 22nd to August 11th.

What can you expect during the internship?  

The 12-week program kicks off with a half day orientation, including an organizational and internship overview, business etiquette, program expectations, policies and conduct. This helps provide foundational knowledge as students move through the program. Over the summer, interns also participate in the following:

  • Exposure to leadership through information sessions and lunch & learns
  • Networking opportunities
  • Giving back through community involvement
  • Manager feedback through midterm and final performance evaluations
  • Social interactions with other interns and interns from years past
  • Participation in video ambassador program
  • Ability to participate in Employee Resource Group events
  • Time to evaluate Celanese for future employment


  • Market Analysis: 
    • Understand and monitor market trends that affect the use of our products by leveraging data from a wide variety of sources; quantify the impact of trends on the growth outlook of our product segments by region and  globally
    • Communicate market insights and their implications for our business strategy to business leadership
    • Using advanced analytical tools (e.g., Alteryx, Tableau), maintain and improve pricing forecast models for key product segments
  • Market Intelligence: 
    • Monitor industry supply and demand dynamics, including production rates, consumption, and international trade flows for key product segments to inform real-time tactical business decisions
    • Leverage advanced analytical tools (e.g., Alteryx, Tableau) and raw material / energy market data to maintain up-to-date view of industry cost position by company and region
  • Business Strategy & Analysis:
    • Perform financial analysis to evaluate potential new capital projects (e.g., new plants, plant expansions)
    • Analyze business growth plans by region and product segment to inform Celanese network integration and optimization initiatives
    • Support customer contract negotiations by analyzing pricing scenarios under different market conditions

Past Internship Project Example: Develop and expand North American Vinyls business analytical tools to drive commercial strategies and decision making.  Aggregate regional landscape and market intelligence to create visual dashboards in Tableau.  Triangulate results across other industry reports and trade flow data to provide strategic recommendations (look at growth rates of different applications / geographies to target growth opportunities and diversification).



Successful interns need to have the following qualifications:

  • Working towards bachelor’s in Business Analytics. Graduation date December 2023 or May 2024
  • GPA 2.8 or higher
  • Able to work in the U.S. with no restrictions (OPT H1b, TN visa currently not supported)
  • Microsoft suite proficiency used to present findings and opportunities to leaders- word, PowerPoint and excel
  • Attention to detail- verbal and written skills used to communicate effectively with leadership and team members
  • Positive attitude and possess learning agility
  • Proven success working in a team environment
  • Flexible and adaptable to changing schedules and work assignments
